Underbalanced drilling is used to drill oil and gas wells in which wellbore pressure is kept lower than formation pressure. This is in contrast to most cases in which the wellbore pressure is kept higher than formation pressure to prevent formation fluid from entering the wellbore.
Our underbalanced drilling division provides compressed air equipment, chemicals and other specialized products for air-, mist- and foam-drilling techniques. This enables operators to conduct a range of underbalanced drilling, completion and workover operations on both petroleum and geothermal wells.
Archer provides underbalanced drilling services through its wholly owned subsidiary AirComp.
