Frac valves

Archer supplies an extensive range of conventional, premium and specialized rental equipment for both onshore and offshore operations throughout North America, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and the North Sea.

Complementing Archer’s portfolio of rental equipment, AWC Frac valves, manufactures and supplies high-integrity gate valves for safe and efficient hydraulic fracturing. Our commercialized “ball-screw” operated frac valves over 10 years ago and in doing so enabled a step-change improvement in the efficiency and safety of hydraulic fracturing operations.
 
Previous generation valves were gear-driven and as a result were slow to operate and difficult to turn under high differential pressure. The slow open / close speed meant that gates were easily worn or damaged by abrasive flow, rendering valves useless or creating operational hazards.
 
The ball-screw technology used in the Torque Master and Hydro Master means that the valves require much fewer turns to open or close and therefore can be operated in a fraction of the time. The fast operating speed reduces the wear hazard on sealing surfaces in the presence of abrasive flow, and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of fracture operations. Also, because the new ball-screw valves need less torque to operate, they can be opened or closed very easily, even in the presence of high differential pressure.
 
In terms of mechanical integrity, the Torque Master and Hydro Master offer unmatched security. The valve body is machined from a single steel block, vastly improving mechanical strength and minimizing the risk of valve failure
