Our history

Archer is an ambitious and rapidly growing organization and this is clearly reflected in our history.

Archer was formed on the 24th February 2011 upon the acquisition of Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. by Seawell. This doubled the size of the business overnight and significantly expanded our global footprint.

Prior to this, Seawell and Allis-Chalmers had independently successfully acquired a number of businesses to improve their own service portfolios.

In August 2011 Archer acquired Great White Energy Services; providers of industry-leading pressure control including coiled tubing and snubbing services, directional drilling; and pressure pumping,including fracking and nitrogen services.

Bringing Great White into Archer expanded our service portfolio to include pumping, snubbing and nitrogen capability, as well as strengthening our existing ability to deliver coiled tubing and directional drilling services. We will continue to seek opportunities to expand both our global footprint and service offerings through acquisitions.
