The ICoTA European Chapter innovation Award is intended to recognise the application of technological innovation in the area of well intervention. The shortlisting of the ComTrac® system as a finalist is tribute to the hard work of both Archer and our development partner C6 Technologies in bringing the benefits of carbon composite materials to well intervention operations.

The ComTrac® rod combines the high strength and low weight of carbon fibre materials with an electrical conductor to allow mechanical intervention and precision logging to be conducted within the same rig-up, enhancing overall efficiency. This was recently demonstrated by the innovative system being successfully deployed for a major offshore operator in which a total of 28 runs comprising plug retrieval, bailing, logging and electro-mechanical interventions were completed. Being one of three finalists selected from a very strong field is an acknowledgment of the merit of our innovative ComTrac® system and the benefits it will bring to the intervention market.
